surgery success!

Our girl is out of surgery and Dr. Bailey has given her a thumbs up.  She did great! She is a little worn out, so she will probably take a big nap with her kitty. Thanks for all of your good thoughts and prayers.

Baby Girl's Big Day

Well everyone, Friday is the big day.  Angelina will have her second heart surgery.  This surgery is one that was predetermined when she had her first.  She outgrows the first surgery and needs the second for repairs.  She will have a third at around 18 months. So send out your love, prayers and good thoughts for her.

happy mother's day!

Our girl is a little party girl, hosting a mother's day gathering in her hospital room. Mom, Dad, brother and sister came to visit along with Lito and Lita, Nana and Grampy, Aunties Sasa and Jessica, and uncle Hector. Whew! That could leave a girl tired out!

2 Months Already!

This last one puts a smile on everyones face!

To home and back

Our little one has had a lot of firsts in the past weeks. Her time out of the hospital, her first time in a car, and her first night home. As you can see it was a very exciting day. She has had to go to the doctors every day for her oxygen treatments.

We have had a slight setback as she is back in the hospital due to a fever (which is now gone) and a bit of an infection on her incision area. We hope to have her back home soon. She is an expert cuddler and we miss our family cuddle time.

Easter fun

Sunday was a big day! I had lots of visitors and the easter bunny brought me some treats. It was a fun time.

Monday, Dr. Bailey came to visit me and told mom that they are going to give me oxygen treatment to help speed my healing. Hopefully that means I will get to go home sooner. Dr Bailey also told my mom that she need to concentrate her efforts to control my HAIR! Dr. Bailey thinks he's a comedian.

Since I have my own room, I sometimes get bored if mom is not visiting. The nurses are nice enough to bundle me up, put me in a wagon and wheel me into another room with them and other patients. I like to hang out and watch everybody rushing around!

1 Month Old!

Our little girl is 1 month old! As you can see she is doing well. Still no word as to when she might come home. We are still working on her nutrition and healing. Each day that goes by she seems stronger and more alert to her surroundings. She is even starting to enjoy her baths! Washing her hair is a must! And of course her pretty (and big) pacifier always helps!

After her bath, we spend some bonding time together. But soon it is "Mi-Mi" time. Angelina loves getting her head rubbed! So after her shampoo and hair styling -- she is all relaxed!

. . . It is hard to leave our sleeping beauty each night. We can't wait to have her home!

A quick announcement

Today, Mom got a big smile, with eyes and everything. That should make us all smile!

Fun days

Little miss had a good weekend. She is still learning about eating, had visits from immediate family both Saturday and Sunday. The grandparents and Aunties and Uncle had time to visit. Even brother and sister got to visit this weekend. That can make a little girl tired out.

She definitely likes to be held. Prefers arms to her stinky old hospital bed. She can get a little fussy when you try and put her down.

As you can see from her pictures, she has crazy sticky-up hair. Auntie Sasa calls this her punk rock hair-do. Auntie decided to sing her "Some should I stay or should I go" from the Clash. She seems to really like it. I think we might have a future rock star on our hands...

Looking Better Everyday

Angelina is improving every day. She is practicing eating, with Mommy's help. Her rash is completely gone. Hooray!

Some have asked about visiting the little munchkin. Her visiting hours are very limited and she can see only two people at a time, so visitors will only be allowed after she comes home. We will be keeping you updated when she comes home and gets settled in to a routine. Then she can have vistors. She's an Adame-Rodas. You know she is gearing up to party and shake her booty!
